Fouras visits and discoveries

Plan an excursion to explore the Fouras-les-Bains peninsula, its vast fine sandy beaches, its villas and its three fishing ports and marinas.

The peninsula is home to a lush forest planted with green oak and pine trees offering holidaymakers a green and relaxing setting.

This old fishing village has managed to preserve and highlight its historical and architectural heritage. A must-see, the Vauban Fort houses the Fouras Regional Museum that traces back the town's history. From the Museum, you can access the Keep terrace and get a fabulous view over the Charente sluice and the Charente islands.

Explore the oyster farming town

Fouras-les-Bains is closely linked to oyster farming and mussel farming. In summer, at Pointe de la Fumée, you will be able to see the lines of collectors who have come to gather precious new oysters... Find out more about visiting the parks at the tourist office.

You can also tour the island on board the Scoubidou, the little tourist train in Fouras.
