3 kms from the campsite, the beach of Anses de Port-des-Barques is accessible from the campsite by bike or car. Ample free parking allows you to park near the beach with public toilets available.
The beach of Port-des-Barques offers a reservoir of sea water allowing swimming at any time. The quality of the water is optimal since at each water (coefficient greater than 70), the sea covers the reservoir and therefore renews the water of it.
The beach offers a beautiful panorama of the island Madame and the island of Oléron and from the promontory overlooking it you can contemplate Fort Boyard.
Ideal for a relaxing afternoon with the family, the beach, its refreshment bar and a food truck will allow you to have a good time. Relaxation, swimming or walks on the trails around the beach, the choice is yours!
Your water activities in Port-des-Barques
For water activities, go to the north beach, at the Club Nautique de Port-des-Barques. Just 4 km from the Abri-Côtier campsite, between Île Madame and Restaurant La Chaloupe, enjoy the activities offered such as introductory or advanced windsurfing courses from March 15 to October 10, 2023. Possibility of renting sea kayak, windsurfing, optimist or paddle.
On the banks of the Charente, between Port des Barques and St Nazaire sur Charente, you can enjoy a pleasant boat trip to go around the famous Fort Boyard with, subsequently, a stopover at the island of Aix, a real little corner of paradise.
